The relationship Meiosis and Mendel's 2nd Law

There is a correspondence between Mendel's readings and meiosis. Follow in the figure the process of formation of gametes of a cell of individual dihybrid, relating it to the 2nd Law of Mendel.

Note that during meiosis, the homologs align in metaphase and their separation occurs at random, in two equally viable possibilities. The segregation independent of the homologues and, consequently, of the factors (genes) that they carry, results in the genotypes AB, ab, Ab and aB.
